" I was born in Sudan, in North Africa, with Egyptian ancestry. I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years now. For the most part, I had been practicing general Hatha yoga and the other various styles of Indian yoga. In 2018, I travelled to Jamaica to attend Kemetic Yoga Teacher Training where I became a certified instructor of the YogaSkills Method.
‘Kemet’ was the original name of Ancient Egypt. Kemetic Yoga is a system of health and well-being rediscovered and resurrected from Ancient Egypt in the mid-70’s by Dr Asar Hapi and my teacher, Master Yirser Ra Hotep.
It is a practice for physical, mental and spiritual development. A slower, methodical, meditative practice combining deep controlled breathing and flowing movements that parallel the body’s natural anatomy. I am also available for private sessions."
Nadia is a Senior Yoga Teacher of the Home of Yoga. An eternal & dedicated student of yoga, Nadia attended Sam Weinstein Transformational Yoga classes for 30 yrs.
Nadia’s learning’s in the ashrams of India in her early 20's germinated the seed of her love of yoga and this quality and the spiritual heart of yoga is deeply felt and experienced in all her classes.
Currently Nadia shares in our Saturday 8am teacher rotation. Nadia's classes are strong, detailed, at times challenging and always inspiring.
Rob Findlay teaches every Friday at 9.00am
“I love Home of Yoga because of the feeling of being a real Yoga community as much as a school. I teach Yin/Yang, mindful, hatha yoga where the intention is to stay completely present in the body and breath, observing & exploring without judgement.
I like music and laughter in my class & the feeling of friends who do this together every week. The greatest thing I keep from my teacher Sam Weinstein is to create each class spontaneously from the people, the feeling, the weather and whatever else is in that moment. No rules, no goals, simply playing in and riding the energy of this moment and whatever arises.”
