November 20th, 2021 will see the Home of Yoga journeying into its 36th year. The Home of Yoga has been through 5 locations and began before Yoga mats were a thing.
The heart of the Hoy was always about Place. A place to belong, to sit in circle, to move, to breathe, to be in community. A place where each class began and begins with the question " How are you today? " and takes the time to listen. Classes were not known for finishing on time.
The Hoy sits at the centre of Heart place as this is where our non-profit grew from.
We have been through major change over the last 3-4 years. With the passing of our Co-Founder and creator of Transformational Yoga, Sam Weinstein early 2018 and the impact of COVID.
A lot of care has been poured into growing our non-profit as a collaborative model and this direction was envisaged and in process for a while before 2018.
The heart of the Home of Yoga continues to beat strong, to flow with and adapt to change. Watch here as we integrate the old website and create a new.
The following addresses bring you here:
See the button above or go to this link for a full timetable of class offerings where you will find many teachers trained by Sam Weinstein in Transformational Yoga and wonderful new teachers with new offerings to share.
The Home of Yoga Club continues to meet every Saturday 8am. Our morning class is taught by a rotation of Home of Yoga Teachers. Followed at 9.30am by Community chai & Chat. The Chai always made to Sam's recipe. All Welcome.
Our Transformational Yoga for Beginners will recommence in the months ahead as we complete this phase of expansion for Heart Place. Stay Tune.
Home of Yoga Teachers volunteer their time. We are incredibly grateful to the following teachers who continue to dedicate their time and teach at the Home of yoga & our Saturday morning class: Nadia Lekias, Mira Rao, Jodi Howat, Bowen Summerton. Also Rob Findlay (Friday 9am), Kirstie Peddersen (Thursday 5.30pm).
To all the teachers and students who held space over the time of Sam's passing and the months that followed you are not forgotten.
