We are so excited at Heart Place to launch our Community, Art & Culture program. heartplace.community
Here we will offer opportunities to create culture, share culture and build bridges of understanding through art, photography, music, song, storytelling, community gathering, sharing of food, movement and dance.
This program is vital to our overall Vision & Mission.
Together through exploring art and culture we deepen relationship to our bodies, each other and the land. Modern Science now recognises the co-regulation that happens when we sing, move together and share stories as one of the most effective ways to heal and connect.
Our intention is that through this program and other Heart Place programs, we strengthen our capacity for compassionate listening. Also our capacity to hold different perspectives, yet come together to effect the healing and change needed to adjust to a rapidly changing planet and create a socially just world.
The Arts and humanities are so very significant at this time in history. Let us value our artists and musicians, our poets and deep reflective 'thinkers' and together create the space to express what seeks to be felt and shared within each and everyone one of us.
Have you a project you would like to share?

“Expressive arts therapy--the purposeful application of art, music, dance/movement, dramatic enactment, creative writing, and imaginative play--is a non-verbal way of self-expression of feelings and perceptions. More importantly, they are action-oriented and tap implicit, embodied experiences of trauma that can defy expression through verbal therapy or logic.” Cathy A. Malchiodi
" we must create new expressions of culture ....If enough people do the same thing over and over, or if they share something with each other enough times eventually it becomes culture" Resmaa Menakem

Laughter Yoga comes to Heart Place! Peter is an accredited Laughter Yoga Teacher & in 2014 appointed President of Laughter WA. Laughter Yoga is a system of exercises that helps even when you don't feel like laughing. Laughter is simulated through a system of exercises & cardio- vascular movements. Laughter exercises last bout 30-40 minutes and we complete each session with a grounding meditation.
Research is showing lots of positive benefits from reduced cortisol, improved immunity, increased life satisfaction & positive emotion.
Come and join us and have a laugh! The intention is to build a community that regularly attends monthly. This event is to be held upstairs above the Fremantle Fibonacci Centre in one of our studio rooms at Heart Place. The attending fee is $10. Please book to indicate attention to come via our Class Booking & Timetable. Payment can be made direct to peter on the day or via our shop here.
Community Chai & Chat
Community Chai & Chat is a tradition of the Home of Yoga carried forward into our community life at Heart Place.
For Decades we have met Saturday's 9.30am following our 8am Yoga class sharing Chai, treats, conversation & laughter.
All Welcome.
Always on display is the Act-Belong-Commit sign.
Our Chai is made with Sam Weinstein's Recipe, the co-founder of Heartplace.
